With the new ‘seasonal high scores’ coming out with runescape 2007 gold, it got me thinking… What if there was a tournament which decided the number 1 BEST fighter in RuneScape. This is what I came up with:

Entry:
Anyone can enter the tournament, which takes place on a set day every month (say, the 1st of every month). It costs 50K to enter. In total, there are 32,768 spaces in the tournament. People join on a first come first served basis.

How It Works:
The way it works is simple: Winner stays on. In total, there will be 14 stages, then the final. All fights are instanced and take place on a server which best suits both participants (if this is possible, I don’t know, but if it is it would be the fairest way of doing things).

Other players can also PAY 50K to watch these duels, and 50% of all money paid goes to the winner of that specific duel. The reward won’t be so much for the early stages, but for the final, for example, a lot of people will want to watch, so the reward could be huge. Players watch from the balcony of the duel arena.

Because this is to determine the BEST fighter in RS, rather than the fighter with the best gear, the armour, weapons, and supplies used by players will be the same for everyone, regardless of levels. They can pick any combination of supplies they want. All familiars are allowed regardless of level. All of these supplies will be specific to the Duel Arena and are not obtainable outside of the Duels. All abilities will be unlocked, regardless of a players level outside of the duel, and every players combat stats will be reduced to 1 for the fight.

Rewards:

A unique cape which has the best combat stats of any cape in the game. This will also be the rarest cape in the game due to the fact that there will only be 1 released per month.50% of all spectator payments PLUS ALL of the money paid by participants (just over 1.6M if the tournament is full).
